Strawberry Cheesecake Turnovers
I am so in love with the strawberry and crème pies that they have at McDonald's that I had to find an easy recipe to make my own at home. Plus, I knew if I made them at home I would get over my extreme craving for them. I googled and googled different recipes and after going through about 10 of them, I decided to just try something out and see what I would come up with. I love sweets and especially sweets that I can make on my own and do so easily. Enjoy this recipe and please leave comments and pictures if you try at home :) Also....

Ingredients:
·
Philadelphia Ready to Eat Cheesecake Filling (I found at Walmart where the cream cheese is)
·
Small Flour Tortillas (any brand)
·
Strawberry Filling (any brand)
·
Vegetable Oil
·
Sugar (optional)
·
Powdered Sugar (optional)
Tools:
·
Plastic Wrap
·
Skillet
·
Tongs (or something to flip with easily)
Steps:
1. Warm
tortillas in the microwave for 15 seconds
·
This makes the tortillas easier to fold up
tight
2. Add
1-2 tablespoons of cheesecake filling to the middle of tortilla
3. Add
1-2 tablespoons of strawberry filling next to cheesecake filling
4. Fold
tortillas like a burrito as tight has possible
5. Once
all tortillas folded, wrap in plastic wrap and freeze 20-30 mins
·
This helps stiffen up the wraps, so they
do not come undone
6. Heat
vegetable oil in skillet on medium heat until hot
7. Once
oil is hot, place tortillas in skillet flap side down and fry 1-2 mins on each
side
8. Once
fried on both sides, place on a plate to cool and sprinkle with sugar and/or
powdered sugar
9. Enjoy!
*I did notice that I liked them even more after
a day in the fridge and heated in the microwave 10-15 seconds. Being in the fridge allowed the tortillas to
soften up and were even more delightful*
